For field trials, real-life infestation scenarios were selected, such as hotels and private residences, which were treated with superheated dry steam. The results obtained during this experiment were particularly positive. Unlike chemical products, which require at least two to three treatments for complete eradication, the use of superheated dry steam made it possible to completely sanitize the treated rooms with only two to three treatments.
In laboratory tests, we artificially recreated the most common contamination sites using various types of materials (wood, fabric, metal, etc.), onto which adult insects, nymphs and larvae (live stage test) or fertilized females (egg stage test) were disseminated. A single pass of superheated dry steam at a speed of 10 cm/second eliminated all the eggs present and an extremely high percentage of adult insects and larval stages.
